Salary Range 44C: ($24.89-$30.26) hourly

Under general supervision by the Mental Health Services Coordinator, this position will be responsible for conducting outreach and engagement activities under the implementation of the County’s Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) plan and program objectives and Substance Abuse Prevention (SAP) Plan and program objectives. Facilitates the Behavioral Health Services Cultural Competence Committee, assists in the development of the department’s Cultural Competence Plan. Services will be offered at the wellness center and across the County as appropriate.  Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS     

Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Psychology, Sociology or a related social science field or completion of core college course work in psychology, sociology, or a related social science field or three (3) years of progressively responsible experience working in a community based behavioral health program(s) that would demonstrate the possession of the above knowledge and abilities.

Experience: Two (2) years of professional or administrative experience preferably in the behavioral health field utilizing MHSA funding.

Other Requirements: Prefer that the individual live in the consumer service area., Prefer that the individual is or was a consumer of behavioral health services or the family member of a consumer of behavioral health services.

Possession of a valid California driver’s license.      

COMPENSATION &        100% FTE in a five step salary system with advancement upon satisfactory completion    

BENEFITS                     of a one year probationary period and annual increases thereafter.

                                    Salary Range 44C : ($24.89-$30.26) hourly

  • Vacation: Accrued at the rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 10 vacation days per year.
  • Sick Leave: Earned at the rate of 8 hours per month.
  • Holidays: 15 paid holidays per year.
  • Retirement: Participation in the California Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), 2% at 62 plan New Members
  • Deferred Compensation: the County has a voluntary deferred compensation program.
