Manager of CNC PROGRAMMING
Continental Tool Group designs, manufactures, and markets Aerospace Tools, industrial tools, systems, gearing, accessories, and a wide variety of replacement parts, We produce and sell medium to heavy-duty pneumatic impact tools, grinders, air motors, hydro-pneumatic riveters, hydrostatic test plugs, impact sockets and custom gears.
CTG’s “Engineered Solutions” products are sold directly to both Original Equipment Manufacturers and industrial branded products through a broad network of specialized industrial distributors serving the power generation, petrochemical, aerospace, construction, railroad, mining, ship building and fabricated metals industries, among others. We work directly with our industrial customers, designing and manufacturing products from finished components to complete turnkey systems to be sold under their own brand names.
Continental Tool Group is hiring a Manager of CNC PROGRAMMING to join our successful team.
The CNC Programming Manger will perform the following Duties
- Define and set Standards for CNC Programs
- Define and set Standards for CNC Set-up Sheets
- Define & Prioritize Programming Schedules in conjunction with Production Schedules
- Define and track metrics that align with production and corporate goals.
- Operate CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred, open to Mastercam and Espirit candidates) to convert 3D engineering models of machined parts into machine tool code files for up to 5 axis machine tools in an industrial machine shop
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering part drawings.
- Ability to read and comprehend Geometric Tolerancing
- Proficient in the Latest CAM Software (Gibbs Preferred) with at least 7-10 yrs experience.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling with solids.
- Capable of reviewing and editing Post Processors
- Strong knowledge of G&M CODES
- Capable of programming and operating up to 5 axis lathes, 4 axis horizontal and vertical milling machines.
- Proven Experience running a team of programmers to drive change to meet Company Goals
- Proven Experience in Cost reduction efforts through programming
- Proven Experience in Design & Control of Fixtures and Work Holding
- Proven Experience in Machine selection to meet company goals
- Self Driven to think outside of the box to drive new ideas and methods
- Quality Minded with desire to drive quality throughout the organization
- Experience in reviewing existing machine practices to improve manufacturability and cost.
- Support Company’s on time, and safety initiatives, prepare estimates of production tooling, machining times, and fixtures in support of new business objectives.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent organizational and file keeping skills.
- Working knowledge of metric dimensioning.
- Detailed knowledge and experience in machining techniques: milling, turning, and grinding practices.
- Experience in various cutting tools used in CNC mills and lathes.
- Experience in machining various materials i.e., aluminum, steel, stainless steel, tool steel, and engineered plastics.
- Experience in workflows and routing schedules through a machine shop.
- Ability to lead and work as part of a team and understand the need to be flexible.
- Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and SolidWorks 3D Engineering software.
- The ability to work in an organized manner and be able to cope with pressure on occasions.
- Interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with employees at all levels within the company.
Education and Training:
- 7-10 years of relevant and recent experience operating CAM software.
- Experience with Gibbs CAM software preferred (but open to ESPRIT and Mastercam backgrounds)
- CNC Machinist / Manual Mill Machinist experience
- High School Diploma or GED, Associate Degree, trade school training or apprenticeship program in a mechanical discipline or tool and die making
